The first CU Walkabout, an Australian experiential learning experience will take place from October 26 to November 6 this year.  Join Mark as he takes a group of credit union leaders and activists to Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

This is a program for anyone at any level in the movement.  Participants will have several opportunities to interact with people who do similar work as well meeting credit union staff at all levels. Participants will be spending most of their time in an experiential learning and sharing environment.  Some work will be done in small groups, some will be one on one and some will be out in the field.

We will meet with movement leaders, credit union leaders, credit union staff, leaders from business, government and community organizations and we will spend some time with Australian families.  There will be a lot of fun things built into the program.  There will be opportunities to shop.  We will see some iconic Australian landmarks and sights.  We will experience some unique Australian sports both as spectators and participants. There will be an option to spend a night or two living with an Australian family.  And, we will of course get to meet some kangaroos and koalas along the way.

Participants will have the following options:

Full Program – Melbourne, Sydney & Brisbane (12 days)

The full program will commence on the afternoon of Saturday, October 26, 2019, so participants will need to organize their flights to arrive in Melbourne no later than the morning of October 26.  The program will conclude on the evening of Wednesday, November 6.  Participants would need to organize to depart Brisbane no earlier than the morning of Thursday November 7.  The cost of this program is $4,800.

Sydney & Brisbane Program (8 days)

This program will commence on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 29 2019, so participants will need to organize their flights to arrive in Sydney no later than the morning of October 29. This program will conclude on the evening of Wednesday, November 6.  Participants would need to organize to depart Brisbane no earlier than the morning of Thursday November 7.  The cost of this program is $3,900.

Melbourne & Sydney Program (6 days)

This program will commence on the afternoon of Saturday, October 26, 2019, so participants will need to organize their flights to arrive in Melbourne no later than the morning of October 26. The program will conclude on the evening of Thursday, October 31.  Participants would need to organize to depart Sydney no earlier than the morning of Friday, November 1.  The cost of this program is $2,900.

This costs listed include all travel within Australia, all lodging and meals, and all organized events.  It also includes some alcohol with evening meals.  It does not include the cost of travel to and from Australia.  There is a lower cost for those participants who wish to share a room and there will also be a special rate for partners or friends who will be traveling with a participant.  Please contact Mark for more information about these rates.
